The project is supported by eight Nordic and Baltic countries: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden.

Valeriu Mizha, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, emphasized the importance of this initiative for the agency: “Moldovan authorities are fully aware that modern skills and institutional capacity for crisis management have become essential elements of diplomatic engagement.

The project is expected to boost the modernization of MFAEI’s management and operational systems in line with international and European standards.

“Secure digital systems and strong democratic governance are common goals,” said Ambassador Søren Jensen of Denmark, speaking on behalf of the partner countries.

The project includes several key measures: developing a cybersecurity roadmap to modernize digital systems and strengthen information security; modernizing crisis management infrastructure, including renovating and equipping emergency coordination sites; and implementing standard operating procedures to ensure continuity of diplomatic operations and effective crisis coordination.

The initiative is based on a memorandum of understanding signed by the foreign ministers of eight Nordic and Baltic countries during a visit to Moldova. It emphasizes their shared commitment to strengthening Moldova’s democratic institutions and supporting its European integration.
