The Palanca-Mayaci-Udobnoe customs post became the first Moldovan border crossing point to be powered by solar energy. Financial support for the green crossing was provided by the European Union and the International Organization for Migration.
The installed system of 178 solar panels ensures the continuous operation of key infrastructure even in the event of a power outage – an important step for border protection and effective crisis management. The possibility of expanding the energy capacity to meet growing needs is being explored.
Palanca is a key customs crossing point on the Moldovan-Ukrainian border and a symbol of cross-border cooperation between the customs and border authorities of Moldova and Ukraine.
