According to the case materials, a group of persons, consisting of citizens of Moldova and Romania, whose identities are currently being established, allegedly acted in collusion with decision-makers of an economic organization specializing in the dismantling of vehicles on the territory of Moldova.

According to the scheme under investigation, vehicles registered in other states, in particular in European Union countries, were allegedly imported into the territory of the Republic of Moldova in accordance with the procedures established by law, after which, in violation of customs regulations, they were dismantled and sold in order to evade taxes and budgetary obligations.

The total value of the seized goods exceeds 8,000 conventional units (400,000 lei) and will be subsequently determined with higher precision.

As a result of the searches, documents, computer equipment, as well as more than 100 vehicles, both in working condition and partially dismantled, were seized.

The case is currently under investigation against two suspects, aged between 34 and 45 years old, who are at large.
