Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu said that in November the process of registration on the government platform for heat compensations will start. They are included in the “Ajutor la contor” program and are provided during the cold season, from November to March inclusive.
It is not yet clear what the amount of assistance to the population will be this winter. This will be clarified after the approval of the national public budget for next year. During the 2024-2025 heating season, the support budget amounted to 2.690 billion lei. In total, more than 760,000 families or 1.4 million citizens received assistance. Out of the total amount, 1.150 billion lei were provided by partner countries, mainly EU states.
In addition, during the year, citizens receive compensations for the consumed electricity, compensating for the increase in tariffs last winter. It covers the difference between the regulated and reference price, but not more than 1.84 lei/kWh, with a consumption limit of 110 kWh. The assistance is provided to all families, regardless of whether they are registered in the compensation system.
