
According to the Ministry of Economy, the main areas of interest for Chinese investors in Moldova are agro-industrial sector, processing of agricultural products, infrastructure projects and energy. Trade and the HoReCa sector are not yet a priority.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, Moldovan exports to China in January-September 2025 amounted to $6 million, decreasing by 4.3% compared to the same period in 2024.
At the same time, imports of products from China to Moldova increased by 18.5% – up to $1 billion 062.5 million. As a result, Moldova’s trade deficit with China for 9 months of 2025 amounted to slightly more than $1 billion 062.5 million. 2025 amounted to slightly more than $1 bln, exceeding by 18.7% the indicators of the same period last year.
