Yesterday, March 12, 2026, amendments concerning the accounting of vine plantations came into force. They were approved by a relevant order of the Ministry of Finance and introduced into the Regulation on the accounting of vine plantations in the process of planting, operation and uprooting.

According to the amendments, both the writing off of vine plantations and their uprooting will be able to be carried out throughout the year, and the restrictions on time limits which had been in force until now have been eliminated.

Previously, the regulation set several time limits. For example, vine plantations could be written off until November 1 of the reporting year. And their uprooting – within six months of the reporting period, but not later than April 1 of the following year.

The need for changes was due to the fact that the uprooting process within the strictly established timeframe may not be possible due to climatic changes, condition or lack of necessary machinery and equipment, as well as lack of financial resources.

Another important amendment clarifies the procedure for confirming losses caused by natural disasters (frost, hail, disease, etc.). The composition of the commission for determining the consequences of emergency events is established, and the agencies whose representatives should participate in its work are listed.
