The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Bulgaria informs Moldovan citizens about the new traffic rules in the Republic of Bulgaria. They are applicable to all drivers who do not have citizenship of this country and do not reside on the territory of Bulgaria. Among those who are subject to the new requirements are also Moldovan citizens who also have Romanian citizenship.
Moldovan drivers need to take into account the new conditions of traveling in the country. Namely, in case they violate traffic rules, the fines must be paid immediately, at the place of detection of the offense.
The payment will be made exclusively by bank card. The Bulgarian authorities have equipped police cars with POS terminals. If payment on the spot is not possible, the driver will be escorted by a police crew to the nearest payment terminal. Payment in cash is not allowed.
Refusal to pay a fine, according to the new provisions, may result in the seizure of the vehicle’s registration certificate and license plates.
This will be done on the basis of an order issued by the officer who found the violation. The order is valid for a maximum of three months and can be revoked at any time after the fine has been paid,” the diplomatic mission explains.
