“The purpose of this assessment is to provide youth with formal recognition of their level of digital literacy, a key competency for continued learning and for successful integration in today’s job market,” the agency said in a release.
The test is conducted online on the specialized platform md.brio.ro, accessible from any electronic device – computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone. The organizers guarantee the security and confidentiality of participants’ personal data.
The testing platform belongs to Brio Teste Educaționale S.R.L., a company registered in Bucharest. Brio is a scientifically developed product based on the Romanian school curriculum.
Taking Brio tests is paid and is only possible by purchasing a certain type of subscription. However, the Moldovan Ministry of Education and Research told Logos Press that participation in the tests is free of charge for Moldovan schoolchildren, without specifying from which funds the testing project is financed.
Participation in the testing is voluntary. Registration is carried out by filling in a special online form until November 7, 2025.
The test results, expressed in the range from 0 to 100 points, reflect the level of a student’s digital competencies compared to other participants across the country. This data is not used for school grades and does not affect the final academic performance.
As a result of the testing, individual reports will be prepared for each pupil, as well as analytical summaries and recommendations for pupils, teachers and heads of educational institutions.
All data, including participants’ answers, will be collected and processed electronically, which will enable automatic generation of personalized reports.
The organizers plan to test about 6,000 students of 9th and 12th grades in the Republic of Moldova.
