Azerbaijan exported 2,247.9 tons of carrots and turnips (fresh and chilled) worth $1.44 million in January-September 2025.
This is 1.1% less than the same period last year in value terms, in quantitative terms – by 5%, the State Statistics Committee of the republic reports.
In the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 1,267 tons (-18%) of products worth $471.4 thousand (36% less than a year earlier) to Russia, 509 tons (-2%) worth $255 thousand (+51%) to Ukraine, 343 tons (+2 times) worth $244 thousand (+3.5 times) to Belarus, 72.7 tons of products worth $37.5 thousand (+3.5 times) to Moldova, to Saudi Arabia – 56 tons (-55 %) for the amount of $18.5 thousand (-40 %).
Moldova actively imports carrots and repousse, having significantly increased volumes in recent years, with Belarus, Russia and Egypt being the main suppliers.
At the same time, Moldovan carrots in season are exported mainly to Romania.
Carrot production in Moldova itself in 2025 is characterized by a reduction of sown areas to 1.5-2 thousand hectares. This has led to an increase in export prices and an increase in imports.
