According to the government’s press service, these data were announced by Moldovan Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu during a meeting with EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The corresponding report of the government with the results of the implementation of reforms for the previous six months will be sent to the European Commission by the end of January this year, and from March 1, the authorities can hope for the payment of a new tranche.

In this context, the sides discussed the measures taken by the cabinet to boost the economic growth, as well as the next steps for Moldova’s accession to the EU. Marta Cos praised Moldova’s progress in the implementation of two components of the Growth Plan: the reform program and the attraction of investments.

We shall remind you that the total amount of EU financing for Moldova within the Growth Plan amounts to 1.9 billion euros. Moldova will receive 1.5 billion euros in loans and 400 million euros in grants from the Reform and Growth Fund. The loans will be disbursed in semi-annual tranches between 2025 and 2027, depending on the fulfillment of the government’s commitments.
