According to the results of laboratory analysis, it was found that the product exceeded the maximum permissible limit of pesticide residues (buprofezin).

The respective batch was not allowed to be placed on the Moldovan market in order to avoid health risks for consumers. In accordance with the established procedure, the product was destroyed, ANSA reported.

Operators of the Moldovan spices market note in this regard that more than 9 tons is a very large volume of product. Usually, processors rarely use pepper in its pure form, preferring ready-made mixes. But even in them the specified volume of pepper for a medium and large enterprise is many months of work. In retail, this volume of pepper is even slower to sell.
