The request will be examined by ANRE in accordance with the current legal and methodological norms.

At the meeting held on January 27, the NRATI Board of Directors approved the basic costs of Energocom JSC related to the natural gas supply activity for 2026, in the amount of 73.3 million lei. This amount is about 41 million lei less than the supplier had requested. The decrease was due to the “strict application of the provisions of the Tariff Methodology and careful evaluation of the proposed expenses based on the principle of maximum efficiency at minimum costs”.

Earlier, ANRE published the structure of the regulated price of natural gas. The cost of gas purchase accounts for about 60% of the price, transportation – 2%, distribution – 28%, supplier costs – 4%, and profitability – less than 1%. In addition, tariff deviations for 2024 add about 5% to the price.

According to experts, there are prerequisites for reducing gas tariffs for consumers, “taking into account the efficiency of purchases made by Energocom JSC for the heating season at average prices below the reference level included in the current tariff”. But the final decision, according to Andrei Nasu, legal consultant of the European Consumer Rights Protection Center of Moldova, “will be made by ANRE after the completion of the audit of Energocom’s basic costs and the closing of the fiscal year”.
