In her response, the NBM head emphasized the strategic importance of the energy interaction between Moldova and Romania, as well as the integration into the ENTSO-E European network, stressing the impact of these processes on the consolidation of economic independence.
“For Moldova, the diversification and modernization of the energy sector is not just an aspiration, it is a strategic necessity. Energy dependence directly translates into economic vulnerability and inflationary pressures. The Central Bank of Moldova has reacted in time to the energy crisis by carefully calibrating its monetary policy, while benefiting from European financial support aimed at stabilizing Moldova’s energy market,” Anca Dragu said.
The head of the NBM did not specify what benefit the central bank got from the European money and in whose favor, only mentioning in her speech before the Romanian energy community the importance of Moldova’s energy independence and the role played by the central bank to achieve it by maintaining macroeconomic stability.
