The event, which will take place from May 21 to June 16, will bring together more than 400 leaders and experts from international organizations, representatives of the Romanian Parliament and Government, the European Commission and the European Parliament, as well as specialists from the professional and business environment.
In her speech, the NBM governor emphasized Moldova’s commitment to European integration, stressing the historical importance of direct connection to the European financial infrastructure. Most Moldovan banks have joined the process of joining the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), which have already been admitted to the technical interconnection of the systems.
“At the National Bank of Moldova, we are taking on the role of a catalyst for progress. We are developing a modern financial ecosystem based on innovation, security and inclusiveness, while supporting financial education and the sustainability of the banking system,” the central bank governor said.
At the same time, the governor presented the “Financiar ELE” initiative, a program launched by the NBM, aimed at supporting women who want to build a career in the financial sector and better understand the functioning of economic mechanisms. Moldova will have a mechanism to track progress in this direction – the index of women entrepreneurship at the level of individual sectors.
“A healthy financial system is one that offers equal opportunities for all. Women should play an active and visible role in this effort to transform society,” Anca Dragu emphasized.
