The meeting took place during Deputy Prime Minister’s working visit to the USA. Eugeniu Osmochescu held a series of meetings with representatives of government institutions, international organizations, think tanks and American companies, focusing on the development of bilateral cooperation and attraction of investments to Moldova.
Extensive program of meetings
The ministry said that the visit’s program started with discussions at the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA), where the economic and security issues in the region, Moldova’s development prospects and the government’s strategic priorities were discussed. The sides reiterated the commitment to consolidate security, speed up reforms, develop infrastructure, increase energy independence and advance on the European path. At the same time, Moldova’s role as a predictable state open for investments, including in the context of regional reconstruction processes, was emphasized.
The officials held meetings with representatives of the US business community and economic development institutions, including the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC), the American-Central European Business Association (ACEBA), the US Department of Commerce, the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), as well as with representatives of the US Chamber of Commerce.
Discussions centered on expanding economic cooperation, promoting investment and developing joint projects in areas such as energy, infrastructure, logistics, industry and advanced technologies. In addition, the prospects for cooperation in the modernization of energy infrastructure and diversification of energy sources were discussed.
Meetings with representatives of the Atlantic Council, the Hudson Institute, and other strategic analysis organizations analyzed regional geopolitical developments, strengthening economic and energy resilience, and the importance of transatlantic cooperation in the areas of security, infrastructure, and governance.
Discussions with World Bank representatives highlighted the importance of the institution’s support in Moldova’s reform and modernization process, including through digitalization, economic development, and consolidation of critical infrastructure projects.
