This was announced on March 30 at a meeting at the Ministry of Environment with representatives of civil society, the Moldsilva agency and the Association of Women Foresters.
In the context of many criticisms regarding the planting of a large number of acacia trees, the head of the ministry, Gheorghe Hajder, noted that best practices from Slovakia, Turkey, Romania and Hungary have been analyzed to identify the most appropriate solutions for managing acacia plantations and ensuring their fair integration into local crops in the context of current climatic conditions.
The dialog focused on the proper management of acacia plantations as well as their economic exploitation. Discussions also focused on species selection depending on the type of land, identifying suitable planting sites and how the Ministry of Environment can adjust reforestation practices.
Those present emphasized the importance of close cooperation between agencies and professionals to ensure coordinated solutions and effective plantation management.
