On February 27, the National Road Administration (NRA), the state-owned company Railways of Moldova (RDM) and the General Directorate of Urban Mobility (GDM) of the Chisinau Municipal Council signed a cooperation agreement. The agreement enshrines the cooperation between the transport authorities, as well as the central and city authorities in terms of designing, constructing and operating a traffic circle, as well as a platform for boarding and disembarking passengers in the Botanica neighborhood of Chisinau municipality.
“The agreement signed today strengthens the capacity of our institutions to act in a coordinated, transparent manner and in line with high quality and safety standards,” said Stefan Popa, interim director general of NAD.
Information from the National Road Administration notes that the project will be a solution to relieve traffic and improve road safety in the Botanica sector. The platform for boarding and disembarking passengers will provide quick and comfortable access to public transportation.
The signed agreement allows the implementation of a model of inter-institutional cooperation that will ensure the implementation of quality infrastructure projects integrated into urban mobility planning and adapted to the real needs of the population.
