This one is a real rarity even by McLaren F1 standards. It belongs to the GTR series, with only 28 cars, and is one of ten Longtail coupes designed specifically for the racetrack.
The car’s performance still commands respect today: a minimum weight of 915 kg, aggressive aerodynamics and BMW’s 600 hp 6.0-liter V12 make this car a pure quintessence of speed. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes just 3.5 seconds and the top speed reaches an impressive 335 km/h.
However, the value of this McLaren is measured not only by numbers, writes portal Focus. In the period from 1997 to 1999, the F1 GTR competed in the FIA GT championship, where it managed to make a loud statement. One of the highlights was the victory at the legendary Silverstone circuit in 1997, as well as successful performances at other stages of the series, bringing the car coveted points and the status of the winner.
Entered private collections
After the end of the racing career, the car did not disappear in the museum halls. It ended up in private collections, changed several owners and was finally carefully restored.
One of the owners adapted the supercar for public roads, preserving its racing essence and authenticity. The car regularly appeared at prestigious car festivals and retro series races, where it invariably became the center of attention.
Most recently, the McLaren has undergone an extended maintenance service at a cost of $72,500, an amount that only emphasizes the level of responsibility and reverence for this legend.
Market experts are sure: such a car is not just a collector’s item, but a rare chance to touch the golden era of motorsport. That is why McLaren F1 GTR continues to confidently hold the position of one of the most expensive and desirable supercars in the world.
