
Three applications were submitted in the competition for the selection of prevention projects, which took place from February 25 to March 10. Two projects were admitted to the next stage: “Responsible Communities – Generations without Harmful Habits” (Association for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship) and “Adulthood and Development – without Alcohol” (Union for Justice and Health).
The project of Vocational School No. 3 “Creation of an active space to promote healthy lifestyles and prevent alcohol consumption among students” was not accepted due to non-compliance with the mandatory requirements of the competition.
The fund’s resources will be used to support initiatives that promote healthy habits and reduce alcohol-related risks.
It should be noted that, according to the World Population Review, Moldova is among the five leaders in alcohol consumption in the world. According to the Alcohol Consumption by Country 2026 report, the highest per capita consumption of alcohol in the previous year was recorded in Romania – 17.1 liters, Georgia – 15.5 liters, Latvia – 14.7 liters, Moldova – 14.1 liters and the Czech Republic – 13.7 liters.
