This service is available on the website servicii.gov.md and in the EVO application, module “Public Services”. It was digitized by the e-Governance Agency with the financial support of the World Bank Group, under the project “Modernization of Public Services”, commissioned by the Agency for Digitalization of Justice and Judicial Administration of the Ministry of Justice.
Whereas in the past, accessing information on inheritance and wills cases required filling out a paper form and physically delivering it to the institution or sending documents by e-mail, with the digitization of the service, citizens have quick and simplified access to it.
The application form is filled online and the required documents are uploaded directly on the platform. Full transparency is ensured as a person can track the status of their application in real time and receive automatic notifications on the progress of its processing. The service is available anytime and anywhere, eliminating bureaucracy.
Information from the Register of Deeds of Inheritance and Wills can be used by relatives or other persons who have a legitimate or justified interest in the estate of the deceased to obtain information on the opening of inheritance proceedings and any notarized wills. As well as state institutions in the performance of their legal duties: courts – to resolve inheritance cases; prosecutors and criminal prosecution authorities – as part of the investigation of cases involving the deceased person’s estate; bailiffs – to enforce inheritance-related decisions; tax authorities – to verify the deceased person’s tax obligations.
This service is provided free of charge. The processing time of the application is 30 working days.
