According to the company’s statement, Galliano will rethink the brand’s archival collections, FashionNetwork writes. His task is to work with the products of past seasons, transforming them through deconstruction and subsequent reconstruction into new designs. This approach fully corresponds to his creative handwriting, formed during his years of work in leading fashion houses, where he became famous for experimental forms and theatrical presentation of collections.

This collaboration fits into the broader trend of “premiumization” of the mass-market segment, where brands are seeking to increase their value by bringing in iconic designers and increasing creative complexity. For Zara, this is an opportunity to strengthen its position and offer customers something more conceptual and unique, while maintaining affordability.

The new collections are expected to be released seasonally throughout the duration of the collaboration. Their launch is scheduled for September 2026. At the same time, the brand representatives emphasized that the principles characteristic of the couture approach, including attention to authorship and details, will be used in the creation of the line.

For now we can only wait for additional announcements, but it is already obvious: the alliance between Zara and John Galliano may become one of the most discussed projects in the fashion world in the coming years.
