US President Donald Trump showed a “rude, insulting and even cruel” attitude towards his colleague at his last meeting with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky in Florida on December 28.
As reports The Washington Post, the Ukrainian side did everything the U.S. demanded of them, and at the press conference heard Trump say that “Russia wants Ukraine to succeed.” Trump then stated “The U.S. will help, Russia will help rebuild Ukraine. Russia wants Ukraine to succeed. President Putin has been very generous in terms of making Ukraine succeed, including by providing energy, electricity, other things at very low prices.”
According to the source, he spoke with Russian President Putin by phone before meeting with Zelensky, with another conversation taking place after the U.S. and Ukrainian delegations had talks. During the second conversation, Putin informed Trump about Ukraine’s attempt to attack his residence in the Novgorod region with drones. Trump assessed Kiev’s actions ambiguously.
