Victoriabank completed the acquisition of Microinvest

The amount of the transaction itself is not named. As noted in Victoriabank, the transaction was completed after obtaining the necessary permits from regulatory and supervisory authorities, and it strengthens Victoriabank’s position in the market and expands the portfolio of services.

It should be noted that Microinvest is the leader on the microfinance market in Moldova with a loan portfolio of 7 billion lei. About 65% of the portfolio is intended for business clients, of which more than 40% are in the agricultural sector. The company serves more than 46 thousand active clients, local entrepreneurs and individuals. The team employs 385 specialists in17 offices.

Microinvest will continue to operate independently, retaining its brand and management.

Levon Khanikyan, Chairman of the Board of Victoriabank, noted that Victoriabank and Microinvest share similar values. “This gives us confidence that we will continue to provide sustainable support to our clients. This transaction will allow us to expand Victoriabank’s role in supporting SMEs and agriculture, two of the most important sectors of Moldova’s economy. This is the second important transaction we are finalizing in 2025, following our merger with BCR Chișinău, and it confirms our growth plans,” he emphasized.

Victoriabank worked with Filip & Company, Vernon|David și Asociații and PWC to finalize the transaction, and benefited from the M&A expertise of Banca Transilvania’s team. Microinvest’s shareholders were assisted by KPMG Hungary, Osborne Clarke LLP and Turcan Cazac Law Firm.

Victoriabank, which has a 35-year history, is the 3rd largest bank in Moldova with total assets of 30 billion lei and a network of 65 branches. The bank employs more than 1,200 employees, serves 360,000 customers and supports local economy, innovation and sustainable development. Since 2018. Victoriabank is part of Banca Transilvania Financial Group, the largest financial group in Southeastern Europe.
