UN estimates average life expectancy in Moldova in 2025

According to the UN study, UN World Population Prospects, the average life expectancy in Moldova in 2025 will be 71 years, - reports Logos Press.

Our country is in 166th place in the world out of 238 on this indicator.

The microstate of Monaco has the highest average life expectancy in the world. A child born in the country in 2025 can expect to live to 87 years of age.

Most of the countries in the top ten are also small territories or countries.

However, there are still Japan (#4), South Korea (#5), and Australia (#10), the three countries in the top ten with the highest life expectancy (84+) with populations over 20 million.

Regionally, Western European countries have the highest life expectancy at birth. Their Eastern European neighbors are slightly lower.

Among the countries closest to us, Romania is expected to be 76 years old, Ukraine 75, Belarus the same, and Russia 74 years old.

In the USA people can count on 80 years, in Germany on 82, in Italy on 84.

Despite the figures of Japan and South Korea, in most Asian countries life expectancy is 70-80 years. Pakistan, Afghanistan and Papua New Guinea are below the 70-year threshold.

In several African countries, life expectancy is less than 60 years, a full 20 years less than that of Western Europeans.

Nigeria has the lowest average life expectancy at birth at 55 years.
