
The project involves the complete reconstruction of the road section between the traffic circle at km 83+025 in the town of Cantemir and the entrance to the municipality of Cahul (km 124+769). The works will last 30 months, followed by a warranty period of 24 months.
The reconstruction includes works on embankment construction of more than 300 thousand m³, milling of 55 thousand m³ of asphalt concrete, cold recycling of 375 thousand m³ and laying of more than 80 thousand tons of asphalt concrete pavement.
The contract is financed by a loan from the EBRD.
Avtomagistrali-Pivdeni International, 100 percent owned by Automagistral Pivden LLC, is currently also responsible for the construction of the ring road in the city of Vulcanesti. Previously, these Ukrainians were involved in the reconstruction of 31 km of road on the Chisinau-Comrat-Djurgiulesti section, for which they received 24 million euros and completed the work in 4.5 years.
