The reason is not economic problems or even military actions in Ukraine. It is banal that there is no snow in the Carpathian mountains, writes “Economic Pravda”. Warm December and the complete absence of snow in the mountains prevented Ukrainian ski resorts from starting the skiing season.
The slopes at Bukovel, Dragobrat and Slavske are not snow-covered, and even artificial snowmaking will not save the situation.
For example, on Bukovel, weak snow began to fall on the night of December 24, the temperature dropped to -3 °C, and the resort turned on snow cannons. However, it is unlikely that they will have time to prepare the slopes for the New Year. Despite this, there are a lot of tourists at the resort.
The situation is similar at Dragobrat: the snow has only slightly powdered the slopes, but it is not enough for skiing.
