
Transgaz posted a profit of RON 516.5 million (MDL 1,962.7 million) in the first three months of the year, double the RON 257.8 million (MDL 979.64 million) in the same period last year.
At the same time, revenues from gas transportation in Romania increased by 49% – from RON 607 million to 907 million, while revenues from gas transportation in Moldova – by 70% – from RON 60.7 million to 103 million (MDL 230.66 million to MDL 391.4 million).
After the increase of gas transportation tariffs by about 50% from September 1, 2024, Moldova, according to the specialized portal icis.com, became “the most expensive transit country” in the region and possibly in the whole Europe. This was the second increase since Vestmoldtransgaz took over the management of Moldova’s gas transportation system on September 19, 2023.
