This is followed by manufacturing, 9.5%; construction and transportation and warehousing activities, 7.1% each; real estate operations, 7%; information and communication services, 6.4%; hotel and restaurant business, 4.1%; administrative, technical and support activities, 3.6%; other types of services – 2.8%; financial and insurance activities – 1.9%; education – 1.1%; production and supply of electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning – 0.4%; water supply; sewerage, waste management, decontamination – 0.3%.
The share of operating enterprises amounted to 75.5% of the total number of reporting enterprises.
In 2023, 2.3 thousand enterprises were established, a decrease of 2.2 thousand (50.9%) compared to the number of enterprises established in the previous year.
The wholesale and retail trade sector accounted for the largest share of businesses created between 2019 and 2023, accounting for 36.6% of the total number of newly created businesses in 2023.
