There will be 23 candidates on the ballot

The Central Election Commission (CEC) at a meeting on Sunday approved the procedure for including electoral contestants on the ballot paper for the parliamentary elections to be held on September 28, 2025.

There will be 23 candidates on the ballot

According to the CEC decision, 23 candidates will appear on the ballot, in the following order:

  • Political Party “Action and Solidarity Party” (PAS);
  • Political Party “Democracy at Home” (PPDA);
  • The political party Coalition for Unity and Welfare (CUB);
  • Andrei Nastase – independent candidate;
  • Political party Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE);
  • Olesia Stamate – independent candidate;
  • Political party European Social Democratic Party (PSDE);
  • Political party National Moldovan Party;
  • Electoral bloc “Patriotic Bloc of Socialists, Communists, Heart and Future of Moldova”;
  • Electoral bloc “Alternative”;
  • Political party “Respect Moldova Movement”;
  • Electoral bloc “Together”;
  • Political party “League of Cities and Communities” (LOC);
  • The political party Alliance for the Unification of Romanians (AUR);
  • Victoria Sanduta – independent candidate;
  • Political party “Alianța Moldovenii”;
  • Political party “Moldova Mare”;
  • Electoral bloc “National Unity Bloc”;
  • Political party “New Historical Choice” (NOI)
  • Liberal Party;
  • Political Party “Christian-Social Union of Moldova”;
  • Tatiana Cretu – independent candidate;
  • Political Party “Our Party”.

In total, the ballot paper will contain 23 positions. The ballot paper will be 14 mm wide and 595 mm long. It will be printed on opaque (matte) paper of sky-blue color. The names of electoral contestants will be printed in capital letters of the same size and font, in the order established by the Commission.

The Commission also approved the sample and text of the mail-in ballot. Postal voting will be available to 2,606 Moldovan citizens in 11 countries. Earlier, the CEC chairwoman said that the state allocated 12 million lei to organize voting by mail in the upcoming autumn elections, although the initially requested amount was 17 million lei.

We shall remind you that for the parliamentary elections on September 28, 2025, 2,274 polling stations will be opened in Moldova and abroad, including 301 polling stations abroad. The number of polling stations for residents of the left bank of the Nistru River has been reduced to 12, compared to 41 polling stations in the previous elections.

According to the CEC budget for the current year, the total expenses for organizing and holding the parliamentary elections are planned at 180.6 million lei.
