
According to the ministry, this is the second monthly issue as part of a new approach aimed at enabling citizens to invest regularly in safe and affordable financial instruments.
Overall, during the 10 days of subscription, individuals invested a total of 40 million 103.4 thousand lei, with 496 transactions carried out by 381 investors.
Of the total amount, 26.8 million lei were used to buy government bonds with a maturity of 2 years (fixed interest rate of 7.6%), and 13.3 million lei – bonds with a maturity of three years (fixed interest rate of 7.8%). This issue also continues the expansion of the range of available maturities following the premiere introduction of 3-year government bonds in the previous session, a measure designed to support long-term financial planning and diversification of investment portfolios.
As recalled in the Ministry of Finance, interest on government bonds is fixed, income on them is not taxed, and payments are made every 6 months to the investor’s bank account.
On Thursday, May 29, the government bonds purchased during the subscription period were distributed to investors’ portfolios on the eVMS.md platform. The first coupon on these government bonds is due on November 29. According to the schedule of SS placement sessions for the second quarter of 2025, the next subscription is scheduled for June 16-25.
