The winner of the tennis tournament “Moldova Open” became Clement Chidek

French tennis player Clément Chidek in the final of the tournament "Moldova Open 2025" in singles defeated in two sets the representative of Russia Ilya Semakin, playing under a neutral flag, with the score 7:6, 7:5, - reports Logos Press.

The final lasted almost two hours. The first set was a tough one, the winner of which was decided only on a tie-break. It was won 8:6 by the representative of France. In the second set Clement Chidek, seeded No. 1 at the tournament, played more confidently and did not allow Ilya Semakin to level the score by sets.

For winning the tournament Clement Schiedeck received 50 ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) ranking points and €7.530 in prize money. The total prize money of the tournament amounted to €54,000.

The Polish duo of Szymon Kelan and Filip Pieczonka won the doubles. The tennis players defeated Lukas Pokorny (Slovakia) and Ilya Semakin (Russia) 6:4, 6:0 in less than an hour. The Polish athletes earned €1,340 in prize money and 50 ranking points in doubles.

Moldova was represented at the tournament by three tennis players – Radu Albot, Ilia Snitari and Andrei Gorban. Only Radu Albot managed to win. He defeated Lithuanian tennis player Ricardas Berankis (7:6, 4:6, 7:6), which allowed him to reach the 1/8 finals. But in the next round he lost to Toby Samuel (Great Britain) with the score 4:6, 3:6.

Ilya Snitsar lost in the 1/16 finals to Great Britain’s Stuart Parker (2:6, 1:6), and Andrey Gorban lost in the qualifying round to another Briton Giles Hussey with the score 1:6, 1:6.

Moldova Open” tournament within the ATP Challenger series was held in Chisinau for the first time. It was organized by the National Tennis Federation of Moldova with the support of the Ministry of Education and Research.
