
According to the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), voice traffic increased by 0.9% over the same period, resulting in an average usage per SIM card of 139 minutes per month (+4.5%).
SMS traffic also showed positive growth, increasing by 6.4%.
The regulator noted that the growth in data traffic was supported by the M2M/IoT market, as the total number of active mobile SIM cards continued to decline in the third quarter (-3.1%).
In the fixed-line market, the number of internet connections increased by 6.8%, reaching a household penetration rate of 82.2%.
Fiber optic connectivity continues to gain momentum, with penetration levels up 8.8 percentage points over the past year. At the same time, the number of fixed telephony connections decreased by 11.7% and voice traffic fell by 20.2%.
