The first Olympic gold medal in 46 years

“Golden puck” was scored in overtime by Jack Hugheso, as a result of which the U.S. team became the new Olympic champion. The Americans are now three-time Olympic champions.

The U.S. won the men’s Olympic hockey tournament for the first time since the 1980 home Olympics in Lake Placid.

The Finns are third

Finland won the bronze medals after defeating Slovakia 6-1 in the third place match. In the semifinals, the Finns lost to the Canadians (2:3) and lost the opportunity to defend their Olympic title won in Beijing (China) in 2022.

The men’s hockey tournament completed the program of the XXV Winter Olympic Games held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo in northern Italy from February 6 to 22.
