Preliminary figures for 2025 indicate impressive growth, with total turnover of the park’s residents amounting to LE 18.9 billion, equivalent to $1 billion. This is an increase of 24.3% compared to 2024 and about 10 times more than in 2018, when the park was established.

“These exceptional results confirm the accelerated transformation of MITP from a public policy tool to a true national economic engine with a direct impact on economic growth, exports and strengthening the high-skilled labor market. This pace of scaling and the results obtained are rarely seen in public initiatives and underline the effectiveness of the MITP model,” said Eugeniu Osmokescu, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization.

“These figures reflect not only the success of the resident companies, but also the transformation of MITP into a real economic engine of the Republic of Moldova. The symbolic threshold of one billion dollars, figuratively speaking, makes us the first “institutional unicorn” in the country. The results of the park’s work show that an efficient public policy, a predictable tax regime and export orientation can ensure a real and sustainable economic effect,” emphasized Marina Bzovy, the park’s administrator.

Accelerated ecosystem growth: 2,725 resident companies

By the end of 2025, 2,725 resident companies were registered in the Innovation Technology Park of Moldova, one of the highest growth rates since the launch of the park. Compared to the previous year, the MITP ecosystem expanded by 571 companies, representing an annual growth rate of 27%, a rare figure for the region.

This evolution reflects the continued attractiveness of the park’s tax regime for local and international companies, as well as the business community’s confidence in the stability, predictability and efficiency of the proposed structure. The growth confirms the maturity of the IT ecosystem in Moldova and positions MITP as a competitive regional platform built on a single 7% tax regime, simplified processes and openness to global markets.

Human capital, competitive salaries and sustainable growth

In 2025, MITP resident companies employ 25,809 professionals, of which 23,110, or almost 90%, are directly employed in their respective activities. This critical mass of professionals reinforces the park’s role as one of the largest generators of high-skilled jobs in the country.

The average monthly salary remains at around 50,000 Moldovan lei (≈2,500 euros), being the highest in the Moldovan labor market and one of the most competitive at the regional level.

“The structure of the labor force indicates a strong orientation towards high-value activities, advanced digital skills and services, predominantly export-oriented. Due to its size and dynamics, MITP directly contributes to talent retention in the country, reduces the migration of professionals and offers competitive professional opportunities in a sector linked to the global economy,” explained Marina Bzovy.

In 2025, the top 5 areas with the highest sales volumes include customer-oriented software, data processing, call centers and export distribution, IT consulting and software development services, which confirms MITP’s focus on high value-added segments and integration into global chains.

Beyond the numbers, the ministry’s strategy for 2026 focuses on a qualitative leap by introducing new technologies, meeting the standards of the single European market and encouraging innovation.

“To accelerate this growth, this year we are transforming Moldova into a living laboratory of innovation: we are integrating artificial intelligence (AI) as an engine to increase the productivity of our companies, implementing Digital Services Act (DSA) standards to guarantee a secure and transparent digital space. We will no longer settle for mere fiscal competitiveness. We will encourage the creation of innovative products, forming a mature technological ecosystem compatible with the single European market,” said Michelle Iliev, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization.

International investments and exports

In 2025, the resident companies of the park represent 44 countries, which confirms the international character of the park and the attractiveness of Moldova as a place for investments in the IT sector. At the same time, the structure of investors remains stable and predictable, with a strong presence of companies from Romania (75), Ukraine (55), USA (38), Germany (32), UK (21), similar to the 2024 configuration.

Exports constitute the backbone of the MITP ecosystem, reaching a volume of 16.37 billion Moldovan Lei in 2025, representing approximately 88.5% of total sales. This level shows that IT professionals from the Republic of Moldova are developing digital products and services for global customers, including well-known companies and international leaders in various industries.

It is estimated that by the end of 2026, the total revenue of MITP resident companies will amount to approximately MDL 19.9 billion, representing a projected growth of approximately 5-6% compared to 2025 turnover. These figures are preliminary and based on estimates provided by the resident companies, which confirms the continuation of the positive and sustainable dynamics of the park’s ecosystem.

The Moldova Innovation Technology Park (MITP), created in 2018, is the first virtual park in Europe to offer a unique tax regime of 7% and a stable structure guaranteed by the state until 2035, with a validity period until 2037.
