The hearings are organized within the framework of parliamentary control and are aimed at a comprehensive assessment of what is happening on the fuel market – from price formation mechanisms to the impact on consumers and businesses. They will be held on Wednesday, April 8, at 11:30 am in the parliament building.

During the discussions, specialized agencies will present information on key issues, including:

Fuel price dynamics and factors influencing their growth;

current mechanisms for setting and regulating prices;

import volumes and structure of the petroleum products market;

fuel reserves and the level of energy security;

the current regulatory framework and the need to adjust it;

the impact of prices on consumers and the business environment;

implications for the road transport sector, including fare and ticket price increases;

key challenges and planned measures for the immediate period.

All stakeholders are invited to participate in the hearings. It is expected that the discussions will become an important platform for clarifying the situation in the fuel market, which has recently raised more and more questions among citizens and businesses.

Recall that the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) set the maximum price of gasoline for April 4-6 at 29.75 lei per liter (minus 2 bani) and of diesel fuel at 33.80 lei per liter – 80 bani more, which is one of the highest levels recently.
