Deputy Prime Minister Eugeniu Osmokescu, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, also spoke about other changes in the personnel policy of the institution he heads.
“In the ministry, we are still staffing the team because we have some vacant positions. In fact, these are our colleagues who are now involved in diplomatic missions, in trade offices. Representing our ministry in trade offices, they are involved in promoting investments in Moldova and exporting products from Moldova. This is a natural rotation that we have to staff,” Osmocescu told Rlive.md.
He specified that the first appointment will take place at the level of state secretary in early January: “And it will be a person from the diaspora who decided to return to Moldova with his family.”
The name of the candidate has not been disclosed yet.
In addition, Eugeniu Osmokescu said that tourism will return to the ministry’s structure as a separate subdivision in the vertical of the ministry.
He specified that the development of tourism is being discussed jointly with the Culture Ministry, which is still in charge of the sector.
“For example, now at the conceptual level we are developing cultural tourism, including manors, their repair, as they are in poor condition. For this purpose, we are developing a concept note and a project on investments with foreign partners from the European Union,” – said Deputy Prime Minister.
It is worth mentioning that the ministry currently has one secretary-general, one deputy secretary-general, as well as three state secretaries in charge of economic development, digitalization and business environment.
