"Russo-Balt"
The rights to the car brand were acquired by a startup from Perm under the leadership of CEO Viktor Nekrasov, according to autoreview.ru. The first brainchild of the company was an unusual electric van with a design a la Tesla Cybertruck. Back in December, it appeared on the streets of its hometown, and now it has received a business card website.
The design of the vehicle is quite curious: a load-bearing body made by hand welding from bent stainless steel sheets and a front-engine electric platform with independent suspension.
The electric van has a range of 400 kilometers. It can be replenished in just one hour using a DC fast charging terminal. About the curb weight of the van developers do not report, but it is known that it will be possible to drive it with a license “car” category B, and payload is 1000 kg. Electric power-assisted disc brakes, ABS and ESP are promised.
At the moment the Perm van Russo-Balt is undergoing the certification procedure. After its completion, the creators intend to sell the van at a price from 6.5 million rubles per unit with the prospect of supplying the first commercial copies to customers in early 2027. Also next year, the manufacturer promises to present a passenger version of the model with a higher roof, and also in development is a twin-engine all-wheel drive modification of the electric vehicle.
As you know, the original car brand Russo-Balt was created at the facilities of the Riga Russo-Balti Carriage Works in the distant 1908. It was engaged in the production of luxury limousines, sports cars, trucks, but disappeared after nationalization in 1918. From 2002 to 2007, the brand under the name Russo Baltique tried to revive for small-scale production of spectacular Impression coupe with Mercedes-Benz units, but this project was closed due to lack of funding.
