The staff of the State Chancellery now stands at 379 people, while the estimated amount of expenses related to the staff expansion is 20.8 million lei.
It is important to mention that the decision was taken against the background of a recent instruction issued by the prime minister to cut the expenses of state institutions.
In particular, according to his instruction, “the public authorities should avoid including in the matrix such actions that imply an increase in the staff, a salary increase or the creation of new units/institutions”.
Also, ministries and agencies are obliged to cut all unnecessary purchases by at least 10%, and expenses on official transportation by at least 20%.
“In the context of a tense international economic situation and rising energy and fuel prices, the state should set an example of financial discipline and responsibility for the use of public public funds,” Filat said.
