
The changes concern such categories of social benefits as allowances for persons with disabilities and victims of the Chernobyl disaster, child care, civil servants’ pensions, temporary disability, death benefits and a number of others.
Oleksiy Buzu, Minister of Labor and Social Protection, called these amendments technical and noted that they are aimed at increasing the transparency and efficiency of social benefits payment.
“We want the National Social Insurance Fund to be able to control much more closely the financial flows directed to social benefits and payments, and to be able to redirect certain funds to active and new beneficiaries with urgent needs,” the minister said.
The expected effect is better management and utilization of financial resources from the state social insurance budget, including state budget funds, for the payment of social benefits, reduction of outstanding balances and prevention of blocking, distribution of financial resources for the payment of social benefits to new beneficiaries.
