This was announced by Labor and Social Protection Minister Natalia Plugaru. According to her, the employment rate in the country amounted to 58.6%. For 2026, the ministry has set the goal of employing 25,000 people. For this purpose, a new financial mechanism to support young specialists was announced. Thus, young people up to 35 years old, who take their first job, will receive a salary supplement of 3,000 lei monthly for one year at the expense of the state budget. In addition, the programs of vouchers for vocational training and certification of knowledge acquired informally will be continued.

Another priority for the next two years will be the activation of the female labor force. “The ministry will expand the Working Parents and Children in Nurseries program, targeting in particular women who are not working due to childcare responsibilities. In 2025, investments in this area amounted to 18 million lei and the budget allocated for the next two years will reach 385 million lei, while about 5,000 new nursery places will be created,” the minister said.

The minister also mentioned the support programs for the elderly population. Next year, the minimum retirement pension will rise to 3,263 lei, starting from April 2026.
