
The Ministry of Justice asks the court to satisfy the claim, to restrict the party’s activity for a period of 12 months, as well as to apply an interim measure in the form of temporary restriction of the party’s activity for the period of consideration of the case until the final judgment.
Earlier on September 17, the CEC issued a warning to the Electoral Bloc “Patriotic Bloc of Socialists, Communists, Heart and Future of Moldova” “for violation of the legislation on financing of political parties in the context of reasonable suspicions of the use of illegal and undeclared funds by the Political Party Republican Party “Heart of Moldova”. The decision of the Central Electoral Commission was made on the basis of complaints filed by Dragos Galbur, President of the National Moldovan Party (PNM), and Arina Spătaru, President of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE).
At the same time, a comprehensive audit of the financing of the party’s activity for the period from May 1 to August 31, 2025, as well as of the financing of the bloc’s electoral campaign for the period from August 3 to October 1, 2025, has been launched. The audit report should be completed by March 31, 2026, with the possibility of extending the term on the basis of a reasoned justification.
Irina Vlah, chairperson of the Republican Party “Heart of Moldova”, asked international and national observers to pay attention to the “illegal actions of the CEC”. She states that the CEC considered unjustified requests to exclude her party from the elections based on unconfirmed data. Vlach considers this as political pressure and intends to appeal the decision in court. She appealed to international observers, urging them to include an assessment of these events in future reports.
