These figures were mentioned by the agency’s director, Natalia Bejan, at a briefing for journalists from Moldova’s economic media.

“It was a very important year, because first of all, we managed to consolidate the agency’s activity,” said Natalia Bejan.

The head of Invest Moldova told in detail how the agency attracts investors and promotes the country’s image abroad.

Benefits for investors

The government offers especially favorable conditions for investors in six sectors of economy: chemistry and pharmaceuticals, construction materials, electronics, auto components, textiles, food industry.

In attracting investors Moldova is assisted by the European Commission, which envisaged in the Growth Plan for Moldova EU guarantees through EFSD+ (European Fund for Sustainable Development Plus) for: loans, equity capital, preferential financing. As well as technical assistance in project preparation and assistance in establishing contacts with financial institutions.

Investors from 6 sectors with projects worth 10 million euros or more can apply until June 4, 2026 in order to launch a business in our country with a minimum own contribution of 15%.

The agency promotes these advantages abroad and at domestic events with potential foreign investors.

What was done last year?

Mihai Burunciuc, Deputy Director for Investment Attraction and Post-Investment Legal Support reported that 10 specialized associations participated in 14 specialized exhibitions (Romania, Germany, Denmark, Spain) with the support of grants from the agency.

There were 7 economic missions with the participation of 64 companies from 5 sectors (wine, food, fruit, furniture, industrial products).

Missions under the BRIDGE Export program: on 222 applications, companies were reimbursed more than 3 million lei to participate in foreign expositions.

13 companies participated in the IT program Tech Step Sweden with a grant of 20.5 thousand euros.

4 major export promotion events were held, 147 companies participated in them.

Irina Tolstousova, Deputy Director for Country Image Promotion and Export, said that to promote the country’s image in partnership with WizzAir a Let’s Get Lost event was organized. 137 guests from Italy – journalists, influencers and tourists – visited our country for three days and told the world about it.

Within the program “Made in Moldova. For the whole world” program, banners advertising the country and local brands were placed in the airports of Milan, Berlin, Warsaw, London and Chisinau, which were seen by 102 million passengers. These materials were also placed in the in-flight newspapers of three airlines: airBaltic, HiSky and WizzAir.

The campaign continues: in partnership with the BBC, the Moldova spot will be shown 250 times in prime time from February 2 to April 5, 2026.

Medical tourism, domestic fruit, wine and fashion brands are promoted.

Through the Buy Diaspora project, Moldovan goods are promoted for ethnic stores abroad in Europe, North America and Asia.

The Agency’s director, Natalia Bejan, said that within the international campaigns, 2,294 Moldovan enterprises used the tools for their promotion. 129 of them reported an increase in exports. The increase in sales amounted to $15.28 million, which means that every leu invested in promotion brought 10 lei of return.

Plans for 2026

Natalia Bejan said that next year, the agency intends to compile and disseminate a list of the 25 largest Moldovan exporters, detailing their activity. This work has already started and is based on data from the Customs Service and the National Bureau of Statistics. The strongest domestic brands will be identified.

In partnership with Vienna Insurance Group (VIG), a curious action will be launched starting from June. On the facade of VIG’s multi-storey office in Vienna, a composition by Moldovan artist Pavel Breil will be placed, describing in 10 pictures the recipe for cooking stuffed cabbage. The slogan is “Your happiness is in your hands!”.

In the 2nd quarter, the web platform moldova.md will be launched, where you can learn about the country and its economy, culture, traditions, etc.

Three meetings of the Economic Club of Diplomats will be organized in Chisinau and one in Bucharest, as well as working ateliers and other training activities on the topic of economic diplomacy.

9 bilateral economic forums with different countries of the world are expected.

A group of journalists from Germany will be invited to Moldova, so that everyone could describe their impressions of the trip as they wish.

Export promotion: 15 missions in 6 economic sectors, 12 international exhibitions in 9 countries, launch of a campaign to promote Moldovan goods on the Romanian market and a number of other activities.

It should be recalled that for 2026, the Government has allocated 20 million lei to Invest Moldova to support business associations within the BRIDGE Export program to compensate for participation in exhibitions. While in the previous 4 years, only 8 million lei were used for this purpose.

Also, 3 serious studies will be carried out: on the possibilities of Moldova’s participation in the reconstruction of Ukraine, on the processing of agricultural products and on the production of construction materials.

“Besides that, we will continue to work with current issues. For example, there is IKEA Romania’s interest in Moldovan furniture and Home Décor manufacturers. Studies of the Romanian market are underway to understand – who buys Moldovan goods there, their predilections and preferences. The export of educational services is being studied. And many other things,” Natalia Bejan concluded the conversation.
