At the same time, companies from Romania and Ukraine strengthen their presence in MITP, which indicates a significant change in the structure of foreign capital, stimulating the development of the IT sector in Moldova.

Until 2023, the USA was the leader in terms of the number of foreign companies registered in MITP. However, since 2024, Romania has taken the first place, followed by Ukraine, which quickly moved up in the ranking.

This trend continued in 2025, confirming the regional reorientation of investment interest towards Moldova. At the beginning of 2024, Romania and the US had an equal number of companies in MITP – 34 each. But by the middle of the year, Romania had moved up to No. 1 with 38 companies against 34 from the United States, and by the end of the year, Ukraine had also overtaken the United States.

Currently, at the end of the third quarter of 2025, 53 companies from Romania, 49 from Ukraine, and 39 from the United States are registered in MITP.

However, U.S. companies remain the leaders in terms of revenue with a projected turnover of 1.1 billion lei in 2025. Romanian companies are expected to have a turnover of 380 million lei by the end of the year. The turnover of companies with Ukrainian capital may exceed 190 million lei by the end of the year, which will triple the results of 2023.

The dynamics of the number of employees is about the same: the USA and Romania are at a stable level (1080 and 510 employees respectively), while Ukraine has almost doubled its team compared to last year, exceeding 260 employed.

“While the U.S. continues to generate the highest revenues among the analyzed foreign-owned companies, the growth of Romania and Ukraine confirms Moldova’s attractiveness as a destination for technology investment. A competitive tax regime, digital infrastructure and geographic proximity make MITP a fast-growing regional center,” explained MITP Financial Manager Nadezhda Khodus.

According to her, this dynamics reflects not only the diversification of investment sources, but also the strengthening of confidence in Moldova’s digital environment.

“Moldova is increasingly becoming a bridge between Central and Eastern Europe and global markets. We see that more and more companies choose Moldova for development due to easy access to the European market, as well as qualified human resources,” said Marina Bzovy, MITP administrator.

In total, at the end of the third quarter of 2025, 326 foreign companies from 43 countries were working in Moldova Innovation Technology Park. In total, more than 2,600 resident companies are registered in MITP, and this number has grown significantly since the park was established in 2018, which demonstrates the success and dynamism of Moldova’s IT ecosystem.
