The Education 2030 Strategy is put up for public discussion

According to the ministry, the program for 2026-2030 includes hundreds of measures aimed at modernizing the education system – from preschool to higher education and scientific research.

Among the priority areas:

– Expanding access to quality education and reducing inequality;

– modernizing curricula and improving student performance in national and international examinations;

– Strengthening vocational education and developing dual education;

– ensuring the integrity and improving the quality of higher education;

– investing in research, innovation and areas of smart specialization;

– enhancing the attractiveness of the teaching profession and supporting teaching staff;

– digitalization of the educational process and development of digital skills;

– promoting inclusion, equity and gender equality.

The implementation of the program is aimed at developing human capital, increasing the competitiveness of the national economy, strengthening social cohesion and bringing Moldova’s education system closer to European standards, the ministry said.

Public consultations on history and literature

At the same time, on March 5, the Ministry of Education and Research published on its website an invitation to participate in public consultations on the subjects “Romanian and Universal History” and “Universal Literature”.

The ministry hopes for the active participation of representatives of public authorities, educational institutions, academics, development partners, civil society organizations and all interested citizens in the discussion of the Education Development Strategy until 2030 and in the public consultations on key school subjects.

“The development of a separate concept for the subject “Romanian and General History” represents a new element in the process of curriculum reform. Until now, the curricular documents have not been preceded by a similar separate document that would clearly justify the vision and mission of the subject, clarify the conceptual dilemmas and define the directions of its development,” the Ministry of Education and Research said in a statement.

The same argumentation accompanies the invitation to public consultations on the subject “Universal Literature”.
