The Cabinet of Ministers has found a new way to attract private investment

According to the Ministry of Economy, this mechanism lays the foundation for an investment infrastructure capable of mobilizing private and institutional resources and attracting capital from the region for the benefit of entrepreneurs.

The Fund of Funds is a mechanism through which the Organization for the Development of Entrepreneurship (ODA) will allocate public resources to several investment partners, which in turn will attract private and institutional capital and invest in companies in strategic sectors. The partners may be local, regional or international investment funds, joint stock companies, investment management companies or alternative collective investment companies.

To participate in the open call from the ODA, investment partners must meet selection criteria, including transparency, proven experience in managing equity or venture capital funds, and a commitment to invest in companies from the Republic of Moldova.

Through the Fund of Funds, the state will provide the first tranche. This will create a multiplier effect: for every state leu, at least 3 lei of private capital will be attracted. The planned budget is 200 million lei for the next two years, and its implementation will be carried out by ODA.
