This was informed by the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolia at a press conference held on 12 May in one of the Chisinau courtyards of high-rise buildings, whose residents applied for this program. The program is open to homeowners’ associations that have created condominiums, as well as initiative groups of at least five owners.
“The program was launched on April 8, and the application period closed on May 9,” the minister said. – The Regional Development Agencies of Chisinau mun. Chisinau received 502 projects. Therefore, it was decided to increase the budget of the program from 100 million lei to 250 million lei from the funds of the “PLUS Budget”. However, the upper limit of 5 million lei for one project remains. We held more than 50 meetings with citizens in all the capital’s neighborhoods to discuss its development. Everyone understands that the development and rapprochement with the European Union means not only the construction of highways, but also the change of people’s life for the better around them. A European yard means comfortable benches in the yards, playgrounds for children, convenient access to and exit from the yard, parking spaces for cars. And above all – harmonious coexistence of citizens inside the yard. For the first time, we are promoting not just an urban infrastructure project, but first and foremost a program for the development of urban communities”.
According to Vladimir Boli, it is important that these projects are supported by people and reflect their needs. People who applied for the program have themselves determined what improvements are needed in their yards. By May 30, the evaluation committee will analyze all the cases and based on the points scored, several dozen projects will be selected within the allocated budget. But improving the landscaping of yards does not imply their redevelopment or new design.
The implementation of the Curtea Europeană program is extended from the national level to the mun. Chisinau. Previously, it was implemented in Balti mun., Singerei and Ciadur-Lunga (it was decided by the government in 2022). Curtea Europeană will be in force until the problems are solved in all yards. Thereafter, funding will still be allocated for this purpose.
Once the projects with the highest scores have been identified, tenders will be organized to select companies to carry out these works.
