The Government proposes to extend the rules on the organization of school transport to teaching staff. That is, teaching staff who work or are transferred to other settlements as a result of the reorganization of educational institutions will be able to use official transport. The possibility of reimbursement of these expenses is also being considered.

The organization of transport provision for children with disabilities – depending on individual needs, regardless of the distance – is separately stipulated.

In addition, the responsibilities of those involved in the transportation process are updated and safety requirements are strengthened, as well as procedures for dealing with emergency situations during transportation are introduced.

The new provisions are related to the process of reorganization of educational institutions.

Recall, the Parliament on February 26 adopted in final reading amendments to the Education Code. In particular, they stipulate that extremely small schools (less than 10 pupils) will work only as kindergartens. Very small schools (less than 30 pupils) will become “elementary school – kindergartens”, and understaffed schools (less than 35 pupils) will become primary schools. At the same time, upper grades will be transferred to larger institutions. The list of reformed institutions will be approved annually by the Ministry of Education by December 31. This year, 63 schools will be reorganized, and 10 more will cease to operate.
