Table grapes area reached 16 thousand hectares

This was announced by the Ministry of Agriculture after the 10th Grape Festival, an event that has become traditional for Moldova, held in Cimislia. The event was attended by winemakers, producers, representatives of authorities and invitees from all over the country.

According to Andrian Digolian, State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, the festival of table grapes is, first of all, a recognition of the labor of winegrowers. “Here, tradition meets innovation and the community unites around a symbol of abundance and hope. We need to be proud of what we produce and be united in what we do.”

During the festival, the Ministry of Agriculture presented honorary diplomas to table grape producers for their efforts and results achieved, and awarded the best grape growers, table grape producers. It was noted that at present, there are about 16 thousand hectares of table grapes in Moldova, of which about 1 thousand hectares are planted according to the intensive pergola system. This modern model, supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, allows increasing the yield, improving the quality of the harvest and increasing the competitiveness of producers on foreign markets

It should be noted that, according to forecasts, in 2025 the table grape harvest in Moldova will approach the level of 150 thousand tons, its export – 100 thousand tons.
