Another 10 conscripts will undergo reduced service in the Moldovan National Army. The campaign will last from April to July. The term of service remains unchanged: 12 months for compulsory service and 3 months for reduced service.
“Army deficit”: does the army need people
Despite the fact that the number of conscripts has decreased by 14% over the year, the parameters of conscription in the country remain almost stable. Thus, the fall campaign of 2025-2026 also envisaged the conscription of up to 1.2 thousand people, which coincides with the current figures.
In Moldova, conscription is conducted twice a year – in spring (April-July) and in fall (October-January), which allows for an even manning of the army.
It should be noted that fluctuations in the number of conscripts within a few hundred people can be related to the current needs of the army and the demographic factor. At the same time, the manning model itself remains unchanged – Moldova continues to combine conscription and contractual service.
