The first to open was the Chișinău Padel Open 2025, a padel tournament for participants of all ages. Fans of the sport, which combines elements of tennis and squash, can compete at the Padel Club, located in La Izvor Park. The tournament started on October 16, but the official opening took place on Saturday at 9:00. The event will appeal not only to seasoned amateurs, but also to those who have not yet had time to discover this young sport, but which has gained a huge international fame in the last 20 years. The competition will last until October 19.
On the territory of the equestrian club “Sparta” in Budesti commune, the Chisinau municipality open equestrian championship “Sărituri peste obstacole” (“Jumping over obstacles”) takes place. More than a hundred riders in different age categories are participating in the first rounds of the tournament. The final competition will take place on Sunday.
In the park “Valea Morilor”, the Open Canoeing Championship of the Chisinau municipality takes place. The tournament, which started in the evening of October 17, will last all weekend. About 180 athletes from the capital and other localities of Moldova are taking part in the tournament.
Young water polo players gathered at the Open Cup of the Chisinau municipality on water polo. Teams from all over the country take part in the tournament. The main condition is that participants must be no older than 13 years old. “The home ground of the competition is the specialized sports school No. 4 “Gheorghe Osipov”. The finals are scheduled for October 19.
Young and young orienteering enthusiasts take part in the fall championship of Chisinau municipality “Toamna de Aur” (“Golden Autumn”). The organizers reported more than 250 participants not only from Chisinau, but also from other regions of the country. The tournament takes place in the Botanica sector of the capital on the territory adjacent to the forest belt.
Badminton lovers were also not left out, who came to the international tournament “Toamna Chișinău 2025”. The event takes place at the sports complex of the Pedagogical University “Ion Creangă” in different age categories – U-11, U-13, U-15, as well as among youth and adults. Foreign badminton players are also reported to arrive in the Moldovan capital.
The mayor’s office said that they have prepared a rich sports program for the weekend, in order to bring together hundreds of athletes from all over the country. According to the municipal functionaries, the events promote the sporting spirit, the culture of high achievements and friendship through movement.
